Why Chekhov

A literary day out that deserves a night

Most travellers see Melikhovo as a day trip from Moscow — and spend half of it on the road. Stay overnight instead: wander the estate where “The Seagull” and “Ward No. 6” were written, walk the quiet embankment of the Terebenka river, and have the town almost to yourself in the evening. Orchards, a river, unhurried streets — the quiet provincial Russia you hoped still existed.

By taxi

Use the Yandex Go app (Uber does not operate in Russia). From Domodedovo — the nearest airport — the ride is about an hour. Show the driver the address card below if needed.

Registration & documents

We handle migration registration for foreign guests, as required by Russian law — bring your passport, a visa if you need one, and the migration card you received at the border (the small paper slip from passport control); make sure all dates are valid. Registration is done at reception; it only takes a few minutes.

Payment

Online bookings are prepaid. For payment options on arrival, please message us before your trip — we will suggest the most convenient way for your booking.

Language

Our team speaks Russian in person, but English works smoothly in writing — message us on WhatsApp or Telegram, and we'll answer quickly and arrange everything, from booking to taxi tips. The in-room voice assistant speaks Russian — consider it language practice.

Booking without Russian

The online booking module is in Russian. If that's easier, message us on WhatsApp or Telegram (+7 968 885-54-73) or email caravan.chehov@yandex.ru — we'll confirm your dates and send payment instructions.

Check-in, breakfast, connectivity

Check-in from 2 pm, check-out by noon. Rates including breakfast at the Jam café are available; there's also a guest kitchen. Wi-Fi is free throughout; a local SIM card requires a passport and is easiest to buy in Moscow.

Around the hotel

A bilingual map of everything useful

Shops, pharmacies, ATMs, cafés and sights — we've put them on one map in English and Chinese so you can find your way around Chekhov without any Russian.
